How I used backdrops

This is the background I use in the first scene.

I use this background for the scene in Phantom knights head.

I used this background for the close up scenes and the scenes in the sky.

I used the mountain background for the flying chase scene. I also use it for the talking scene however it is enlarged.

I use this white background for the title card and loading screens

Equipment setup

I would create the characters and the individual character positions in illustrator, then to animate them I would move the individual positions to frames in photoshop. The reason I did this was because I fund that I could edit the characters a lot easier in Illustrator than photoshop.

If the scene also requires some kind of effect I'll add that by moving the exported video over to After effects then add the effects. e.g. I did this for the rain scene

Once I have all the frames in photoshop and the animated scene is finished I export the it (each individual scene is usually 10-15 seconds) then I move the scene over to premier where I will eventually compile and arrange all of the scenes into the end product.

Once I've got all the scenes in premier I export the finished product into an MP4 file.

File structure
I found that this was the easiest way to organise my files

C)

As far as the overall plot goes The story is relatively the same in the fact that both stories start with them with their eyes closed, they both sense each other then a confrontation happens, than phantom knight gets shot. I did change a lot of things however.

Things I got rid of

Bike: I got rid of the bike because it was too hard to animate in my opinion.

The giant knight: I got rid of the giant knight because I thought it was a liability and seemed like too much work to animate a whole other character.

Castle: I got rid of the castle because it seemed fairly pointless to have on there because phantom knight goes to confront Ethereon, also the the castle wasn't to the standard I'd hoped for.

Green character: I didn't keep this character because I didn't think he looked good enough and fit with the art style enough. In the actual animation I change it so it's Ethereon that shoots phantom knight

Things I added:
1. Fight scene: I added this because I thought it would be good to have that take up a large amount of the animation
2. Introduces he character blue sooner: I did this because I thought it fit better
3. Loading screens: I added these to give the animation a video game like feel
4. Title card: To tell the audience the Title.

Script
Because I did the story board before the script and the script after I realise what I want the animation to be, it is completely identical to the animation. So no changes were made to it.

Production schedule

I followed the production schedule perfectly. I believe it worked do well because I set realistic goals
